A Very Special Christmas 25th Anniversary

$0.91 from each sale of the individual tracks featured on this page and $8.40 from each sale of the album featured on this page will be donated to the Special Olympics, which amounts reflect 100% of artists' and label's share. For its 25th anniversary release, A Very Special Christmas gathers together an eclectic mix of pop, rock and R&B talents to celebrate the season with an assortment of classic songs and newly-written numbers.  Tracks like Michael Buble’s elegant reading of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” Jordin Sparks’ gospel-filled take on “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and Jason Mraz’s playful acoustic rendition of “Winter Wonderland” should please fans of these holiday favorites. Traditional nativity music is represented by Jewel’s tender “Angels We Have Heard on High” and Christine Aguilera’s exalted “Oh Holy Night.” Standouts among the original tunes include Cheap Trick’s power-poppy “I Want You for Christmas” (a rewrite of the band’s “I Want You to Want Me”), Francesca Battistelli’s light-hearted “December 25” and Vince Gill’s soaring “Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song).”  Among the more unusual offerings is a live recording of Dave Matthews performing his quietly intense “Christmas Song.” As with previous A Very Special Christmas releases, all participating artists and labels will be donating their royalties to benefit the Special Olympics.
